Hi there. My name is Steven Potaczek. I’m a music producer, professor, and author of Fear Not, Creative: Futureproofing Artistic Work in the Age of AI.

The book is essentially a creative rebellion manual for artists navigating the rise of generative AI. Blending historical context, practical strategy, and cultural critique, it cuts through hype to show where machines fall short—and how creatives can sharpen their voice, protect their income, and position themselves as irreplaceably human.

In short, my goal with the book is to help creatives:

  • Decode the AI threat with clarity and confidence

  • Flip fear into firepower, arming themselves with tools to thrive

  • Develop a voice that’s bold and cuts through the noise

  • Build creative confidence by vulnerably leaning into their humanity, flaws and all

  • Protect their income and identity in a content-saturated economy

As a creative myself, I’ve collaborated with artists of all sizes and shapes, helping them bring their artistic vision to life. I’ve partnered with organizations such as MTV, National Geographic, and the NBA, written several Billboard Top 40 hits, earned numerous industry accolades (including the Gospel Music Academy’s “Song of the Year” award and the John Lennon Songwriting Competition), and had my work featured on popular television shows such as New Girl, America’s Top Model, and CBS Evening News.

I’d love for you to subscribe to join the launch team for Fear Not, Creative.
